i.e. — We Set the Example

Two guys who never
stopped making things.

IE Creations doesn't have a shop. It lives in the trunk of a sedan and gets built in backyards, NYC basements, and community makerspaces. That's the point.

Eitan Weinberg

Co-Founder

Eitan
Weinberg

Builder · Engineer · Maker · Entrepreneur

Eitan is a true New York City kid — born and raised in the concrete jungle, where a workshop is the last thing you'd expect. But that never stopped him. While most kids were on their phones, he was figuring out how to build things, and the city taught him to be resourceful about it.

He was CAD Captain of his high school's FIRST Robotics team, helping take them to a State Championship qualifier — and his school liked what they saw enough to invite him back as a coach and mentor. He's a serial entrepreneur who's been hustling ideas since he was a kid. Now a senior at Rutgers studying IT & Informatics with a minor in Entrepreneurship, he's currently VP of Rutgers ASME.

Before college, he interned at FlightOps in Israel — designing drone components in Fusion 360 for US Military use, some of which are now in real-world applications. For his externship, he led a team that designed and built a fully custom working vending machine from scratch — hardware, code, and all. He has a 2nd place CIJE Innovation Fair award, has built a working drone, trained a machine learning model to sort Lego bricks, and built a cabin in the woods. IE Creations lives in the trunk of his sedan. He's completely fine with that.

Ilan Davidovsky

Co-Founder · Washington DC

Ilan
Davidovsky

Builder · Engineer · Tinkerer Since Day One

Ilan and Eitan met in high school and immediately found their people — on the robotics team, where they spent countless hours learning to design, build, and problem-solve together. That robot they built? Ilan still considers it his baby.

He's been taking things apart and putting them back together since he was a kid — electronics, tools, woodworking, you name it. He's built Lego puzzles from scratch, carved his own wooden kendama by hand, and tackled projects most people wouldn't know where to start.

Now based in DC doing HVAC work, Ilan is a true engineer in every sense — if it can be built, he can figure out how. He's the reason IE Creations doesn't back down from the hard ones.

Ilan & Eitan

Two friends who've been making things their whole lives. Ilan's now in Maryland in HVAC. Eitan's finishing his IT degree at Rutgers. The distance hasn't slowed anything down.

i.e.

Latin for "that is" — used in writing to show an example. We took it literally: IE Creations sets the example for what handmade can be.

"Honestly? This whole thing started out of boredom. We just wanted something to do. Now it's a rule we live by — we can build anything, we never walk away from a project, and the harder it sounds, the more we want to try it."

Projects that speak for themselves.

Resin and Wood Mezuzahs
Resin · Wood
Resin & Wood Mezuzahs

I hand-made mezuzahs using a mix of resin and wood, experimenting with different combinations of wood types and resin colors. Each one is individually unique, with no two alike.

Go-Kart Hank
Fabrication
Radio Flyer Go-Kart "Hank"

I set out to build a Go-Kart — not just any Go-Kart. I turned an old Radio Flyer wagon into a 212cc, ~12HP go-kart my friend and I call "Hank." He hits around 20 mph uphill.

Resin Shtender
Resin · Wood
Resin Shtenders

A custom hand built resin and wood shtender — a complete labor of love that took over a month to complete. Gold resin contrasting with dark walnut, finished with Rubio monocoat.

Challah Board
Woodwork
Challah Boards

Handcrafted wooden challah boards for Shabbat and holidays. Clean cuts, smooth finishes. Custom sizes and engravings available.

Fidget Toys
3D Printed
Fidget Toys

Precision 3D-printed fidget toys built for satisfying tactile feedback. Fully customizable in color, shape, and size.

Coffee Table
Woodwork
Custom Tables

In my senior year of high school I designed and built a coffee table for my living room as an independent study. Made entirely from maple and cherry wood with no metal fasteners — all joinery, all by hand.

Gabbai Cards
3D Printing · Judaica
Custom Gabbai Cards

At the Hillel on my college campus, we lacked a full set of gabbai cards — so I 3D printed a custom set with my school's logo, weekday/Shabbat dividers, and a magnetic lid.
